The Institute of Chemical and Biological Research (IIQB) of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy is the unit of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala responsible for the planning, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of the Faculty's research activities.
The Institute's fundamental purposes are:
2.1. To be a research unit of high scientific and technological level, seeking to maximize the use of the Faculty's human, material, and technical resources.
2.2. To generate research that allows for the resolution of specific problems in the country, fostering the creation of faculty capacity to become reference laboratories that guarantee the quality of the goods produced and consumed by the population.
2.3. To conduct research designed to support the Faculty's teaching and service.
