Abstract

The present investigation was carried out with the purpose of evaluating the anti-inflammatory activity of extracts and eromatographic fractions of the flowers of the species Gnaphalium stramineum HBK (Sanalotodo) and to isolate the main active ingredient(s) responsible for said activity. The in vivo tests of anti-inflammatory activity and the phytochemical study carried out have allowed to isolate compounds derived from caffeoylquinic acid and flavonoid glycosides as the main active ingredients responsible for said pharmacological activity.
