This study was carried out with the purpose of knowing the nutritional status of street children, since to date there are no similar studies, data that can be a basis for carrying out studies in populations with similar conditions. The study was carried out in the Casa Alianza program, a development institution dedicated to street children (1,2), with children between 9 and 18 years of age of both sexes, who know how to read and write and who anonymously and voluntarily wished to participate. The methodology used was a questionnaire of anthropometric data (weight, height, age, sex) and stages of sexual development according to the Tanner classification. The first part of it was filled out based on the data obtained by the researcher and the second part consisted of a self-assessment. The data analysis was carried out through variance analysis and correlation analysis, in order to find the relationship between the nutritional status and the stage of sexual development of children. When evaluating the nutritional status according to the muscle mass index, it was found that the majority were classified in the ideal index, as well as when compared with the variables of: program stage, sex and stage of sexual development.Downloads
