50th Anniversary of the School of Biology, Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy, University of San Carlos of Guatemala. The history of the School of Biology at the University of San Carlos of Guatemala begins with the inspiration of a visionary who, as director of the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy in 1968, drafted a proposal for its creation. At the time, the proposal was not approved for budgetary, administrative, and other reasons, but this visionary did not back down in his fight to lay the foundations for solid education in the field of Biology, so necessary in our country.
